Shiny Power Wash

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the services provided by Shiny Power Wash (“we,” “us,” or “our”) to you (“Client” or “Customer”). By approving or accepting our written estimate, booking, or using our services, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. General Expectations of our Service
We offer professional power washing services, including but not limited to cleaning driveways, sidewalks, siding, decks, roofs, and other exterior surfaces. We take pride in delivering high-quality results and customer satisfaction.
However, it’s important to set realistic expectations: power washing, like any cleaning process, will not fully restore surfaces to their original or “brand-new” condition. Factors such as age, material type, and pre-existing stains may influence the final results.
If the Client is dissatisfied with the service, they must notify us within 3 days to request a resolution or re-cleaning. Please note that additional charges may apply for re-cleaning unless the issue is directly caused by our misconduct.
3. Client Responsibilities
To ensure a smooth and efficient service, please follow these guidelines:

Water Access: Ensure at least one water spigot is available for use.

Property Access: Unlock any driveway, fence, or yard gates before service.

Parking: Clear both the driveway and street parking area in front of the building.

Secure Property: Close all windows and doors tightly.

Damage Disclosure: Inform us of any pre-existing damage, sensitive materials, or areas of concern prior to the service.

Pets and Children: Keep all pets and children indoors during the service.

Clear Work Areas: Remove any obstacles; blocked areas may not be cleaned.

Protect Personal Items: Store personal and fragile belongings, especially those you don’t want to get wet.

Home Presence: You don’t need to be home; we can send the invoice afterward.

Window Screens (Premium Window Cleaning Only): Remove all window screens if Premium Window Cleaning is included in your contract.
Please note: We reserve the right to charge additional fees for any work, delays, rescheduling, cancellations, or re-travel related to the above items.
4. Understanding our Written Estimate
By providing a written estimate, we secure the right to bill the specified amount once the Client accepts the estimate and we successfully complete the outlined work. We also reserve the right to cancel the estimate or appointment and/or terminate services at any stage for any reasonable cause.
If the approved work is not fully completed, we may bill the Client proportionally for the work that has been successfully completed.
5. Limitations and Disclaimers
Power washing may reveal or worsen pre-existing damage, discolouration, or surface wear. The Customer acknowledges that by engaging our services, they are authorizing us to clean their property using water and industry-standard cleaning solutions. We assume that the building is fully sealed and in good condition, and that any exposed fixtures, electronics, and furniture are outdoor-grade, capable of withstanding a reasonable amount of water pressure and typical exterior cleaning agents. Shiny Power Wash is not responsible for:
- Damage that becomes visible as a result of the power washing process
- Water intrusion or water-related damage
- Surface discolouration due to material aging or deterioration
6. Appointment Cancellation and/or Rescheduling
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather. The following policies apply:
- If we cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will receive a $50 coupon as compensation.
- If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, a $50 cancellation fee may apply.
7. House Washing Expectation
Our House/Building Washing service effectively removes most dirt and organic build-up from your exterior siding. However, it does not address issues such as plants (e.g., vines) growing or dried on the siding, nor does it remove non-organic stains like paint, rust, or oil/grease. In some cases, we may be able to handle these more complex situations for an additional cost. Please reach out to discuss any special requirements.
Our house washing services are performed on the exterior of the building only. Due to various factors—such as lack of regular maintenance or previous pressure washing by an untrained professional—some dirt may have penetrated the building materials through small openings like vinyl weep holes, soffit ventilation holes, and old or broken seals. After our service, it is possible that dirty water may drip from these openings, leaving brown marks or streaks on surfaces below. These can usually be wiped away with a clean cloth. Please note, we charge an additional fee for callbacks related to this issue.
Please be aware that vinyl siding, metal soffits, gutters, window trims, and other painted surfaces that are old or poorly maintained may be susceptible to oxidation. Our standard house washing service does not remove oxidation or restore oxidized surfaces, and it is possible that oxidation may become more noticeable after cleaning. If oxidation removal is desired, we may offer a specialized service (similar to car paint restoration) for an additional cost. Please contact us for more details.
Basic window cleaning is included in our house/building washing service at no additional cost. However, please note that power washing is different from traditional window cleaning. As part of our regular power washing service, windows may not be left completely spotless. We do not squeegee the windows or purify the water used for power washing. As a result, depending on the water quality from your spigot, there may be water marks left on the glass after the service. Additionally, dirty or soapy water streaks might appear from the window flashings or porous walls above the windows. If a streak-free, detailed finish is a priority, we recommend our Premium Window Cleaning service. This service is only recommended for newer homes with a lower risk of oxidation, failed sealing, or compromised flashings.
We use low pressure when cleaning your siding, so we will not strip solid paint from your house unless you specifically request and pay for this service. However, some old and loose paint may come off during the regular low-pressure house washing. If you plan to paint your house after our washing service, please be aware that your home may not be perfectly prepared for painting. We strongly recommend having a professional painter assess and prepare the designated areas after our service to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
8. Roof Cleaning Expectation
Unless specified in our written estimate, our roof cleaning process involves a non-pressure chemical treatment, following manual moss brushing. This treatment is effective in killing most damaging growths, such as algae, moss, and lichen. We do not provide services to remove non-organic stains, such as mineral deposits, efflorescence, rust, or old sealer/paint.
After the roof treatment, you may notice light brown areas or small white/yellow lumps remaining on the surface. The brown areas are dead algae or bacteria that were previously black streaks, and we recommend allowing up to eight weeks for these to fade or be washed away by rain. The white/yellow lumps consist of dead moss or lichen, which may take up to six months, and in some rare cases, up to 24 months, to fully deteriorate or fall off.
9. Garbage Disposal
Shiny Power Wash does not provide garage disposal services. We do not remove moss, debris, or any other materials from the job site unless prior arrangements have been made.
10. Insurance and Safety
We are registered and in good standing with WorkSafeBC, and we carry liability insurance with coverage of $2,000,000 or more for our services. However, we are not liable for damages resulting from circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to pre-existing surface conditions and structural weaknesses. The Client is responsible for informing us of any fragile or sensitive areas that require special attention before we begin the work.
If you believe any damage was caused by our misconduct, please formally report it to us via email at info@shinypowerwash.ca within three days of the completion of our service. We will conduct a full evaluation and, within 30 days, either repair the damage or arrange for a contractor to perform the necessary repairs caused by our misconduct.
In accordance with WorkSafeBC regulations, if any of the work requires working at height, we may install and uninstall a temporary roof anchor without prior notice, at no additional cost. A permanent roof anchor is also available, with a lifetime warranty, for an additional cost and after verbal approval.
11. Content Release
Unless notified in writing, Shiny Power Wash reserves the right to use any photos and videos taken on or around your property for marketing purposes. Additionally, any reviews you leave on our business pages, including but not limited to Google, Facebook, Twitter/X, Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and Instagram, may also be used. We will not include sensitive information such as addresses or last names. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that you will not seek compensation for the use of these materials.
12. Contact Information Release
By providing your contact information to us, you authorize Shiny Power Wash to contact you via phone, text, or email until you formally notify us otherwise. We may send marketing and promotional content via text or email up to five times per year, unless you formally notify us to stop.
13. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of work for residential customers, and 30 days after completion of work for commercial or strata customers, unless other prior arrangements have been made. We accept payment via cash, check, e-transfer, debit cards, and credit cards. Please note that an additional fee may apply for payments made by credit card.
Any overdue invoices will incur a 2% monthly interest charge, or the maximum rate permitted by law, whichever is lower. If payment is not received within 30 days past due, Shiny Power Wash reserves the right to hire a collection agency and/or file a civil claim to collect the outstanding debt. Any legal fees incurred during the process will be added to the unpaid balance.
14. Terms and Conditions Updates
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. If any changes are made to this agreement, we will post the updated date at the top of this page.
