Shiny Power Wash

Here at Shiny Power Wash, we work hard and provide 100% satisfaction guaranteed services. At the same time, we want to set our customer’s expectations right. Exterior cleaning is like any other cleaning, car wash, cloth wash, dish wash, hand wash, etc. Depending on different conditions, the actual results may vary. By choosing our service, you are deemed to have read and accepted the following agreement. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Your Appointment Might be Cancelled
Due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, your appointment may be moved to the next available business day. Please understand that we will do our best to accommodate for a quick reschedule but have to work around other scheduled clients and weather.
On the Day of the Service, please:
- Have a water spigot ready to use
- Clear both the driveway and the street parking area in front of the building
- Have all windows and doors closed tightly
- Disclose any existing loosen or broken areas
- Have all pets inside before and during our service
- Clear the work areas (blocked areas might not get cleaned)
- Put away all sensitive items, especially those you don’t want to get wet
- No one has to be home; we can send you the invoice later
- REMOVE all the window screens IF you have Premium Window Cleaning in the contract
House Washing Expectation
House Washing removes most of the dirt and organic buildups on your house sidings. It does not remove plants (e.g., vines) growing on the sidings or non-organic stains such as paint, rust, and oil. We might be able to handle complicated situations like these with additional cost.
We can only wash your house from outside. Due to a lot of reasons, such as lack of regular maintenance or previous pressure washing by a nonprofessional, some dirt may have travelled into your exterior building materials through small openings such as vinyl weep holes or breathing holes on the soffits. After our house washing services, it is possible to see some dirty water dripping off from those holes and leaving brown marks or streaks on the surfaces below. You may simply wipe them off with a clean rug. We do charge additional for these kinds of callbacks that were not caused by us.
Please understand that vinyl sidings, metal soffits, gutters, window trims, and any other painted surfaces that are old or have not been well maintained might be subject to oxidation. Our regular house washing service is not able to remove oxidation or restore the oxidized surfaces. And the oxidation might be more noticeable after a cleaning. We do offer oxidation removal service (similar to a car paint restoration) with additional cost.
Basic window cleaning is included in our house washing service with no additional cost. Your windows might not be perfect after a regular house washing. We do not squeegee the windows or purify the water we use to wash your house. Thus, there is potential, depending on the water quality from your water spigot, to have some water marks left on the glass after our house washing service. It is also possible to see dirty/soapy water streaks coming from the window flashings or porous walls above the windows. If this is your concern, please consider choosing our Window Cleaning service.
We do not use high pressure on sidings, so we won’t strip off any solid paint on your house (unless you specifically ask for and pay for it), but some old and loose paint might come off with regular low-pressure house washing. If you plan to paint your house after the house washing, please understand that your house might not be perfectly ready for painting after our house washing service. Having a professional painter to prepare the designated areas after the house washing is strongly recommended.
Roof Cleaning Expectation
Our roof cleaning solution is able to kill most damaging growths such as algae, moss, and lichen. We do not offer any service to remove non-organic stains such as mineral deposits (normally seen on concrete tile roofs, not harmful to the roof).
Most roofs take 1 to 10 days to become completely clean after our roof treatment. But, depending on the condition of your roof and the incoming weather, this process may take up to six months. The Roof Cleaning Deluxe Add-on – Instant Result Option (with low-pressure water rinsing) is available if the wait time is your major concern.
After the roof treatment, it is possible to see some light brown areas and/or white debris that remain. These light brown areas are dead algae/bacteria (or gloeocapsa magma) which previous to our treatment were black streaks. We request you wait up to eight weeks for the brown areas to fade or be washed away by rains. The white debris are dead moss or lichens, which may take up to six months to completely deteriorate or fall off. Please understand if there are big trees around your house and there are leaves continuously falling onto your roof, the debris might never be completely gone with natural elements alone. Garbage Disposal
Shiny Power Wash does not take moss, debris, or any other garbage away from the job site, unless other prior arrangements were made.
Insurance and Safety
Shiny Power Wash is registered and in good standing withWorkSafeBC, as well as covered by $2,000,000 (or more) liability insurance.
If any of the work is related to working at height, we might install and uninstall a temporary roof anchor without a prior notice. A permanent roof anchor is also available at a cost and with a lifetime warranty, after verbal approval.
Possible Water Intrusion and/or Damage
Customer understands that we are invited to wash your house with water and cleaners. It is customer’s responsibility to make sure that the house is washable, safe to handle reasonable pressurized water and typical exterior cleaners. We take extra caution or steps when we find leaky windows/doors, poorly sealed windows/doors, open windows/doors, previously damaged surfaces, outdoor electronics, and things as such. But, it is generally customer’s responsibility to handle any water intrusion and water damage caused by water intrusion.
100% Satisfaction Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact us after six and within seven months of completion of our roof cleaning service, or within three days of completion of any other services. We will evaluate the situation and provide a free rework if needed. If after the rework, you are still not satisfied, we will, under our terms and conditions, give your money back, given that you hire another power washing contractor, within one month of completion of our rework, to redo the same work and send us a copy of the receipt, along with a reason that you believe the other contractor did a better job with less than two times of our price.
Content Release
Unless other agreement has been formally signed, Shiny Power Wash reserves the right to use any photos and videos taken on or around your property, solely for marketing purposes. The reviews you write on any of our business pages, including but not limited to Google, Facebook, Twitter, Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and Instagram, may also be used. We will not include any sensitive information such as addresses or last names. You will not ask for any kind of compensation for these content usages.
Contact Information Release
By providing your contact information to us, you authorize Shiny Power Wash to call you within three months after you provide the contact information, text or email you before you formally notify us not to. Shiny Power Wash may text or email marketing and promotion contents about three, but no more than six times a year.
Risk of Damage
Our technicians are well trained and very responsible in the cleaning process to make sure not to cause any damage to your property. However, damage can still happen to surface with poor conditions. Right before our service, our technicians will inspect your home and let you know if we find anything worth extra attention. If we do, we won’t continue with the actual service before your oral confirmation. We also recommend you to fully inspect your home by yourself before and after our service.
If Damage Occurs
If you find any damage that you believe was caused by our mistake, please formally report it to us with email (info@shinypowerwash.ca) within three days of completion of our service. We will do a full evaluation and, within 30 days, repair or contract repair to any damage caused by our misconduct.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of work for residential customers, and 30 days after completion of work for commercial or strata customers, unless other prior arrangements were made. The forms of payment we accept include cash, check, e-transfer, debit cards, and credit cards. Any invoice that is overdue is subject to a 2% monthly interest, or the maximum rate permitted by law, whichever is lower. If payment is not received within 30 days past due, Shiny Power Wash reserves the right to hire a collection agency and/or file a civil claim and collect outstanding debt. Any legal fees incurred during the process will be added to the unpaid balance.
Agreement Updates
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. If we make any changes on this agreement, we will post the date of the updates on the top of this page.
